Voices from the Bombed Universities of Ukraine

Masha Vlasenko (IMPAN) and Efim Zelmanov (UC San Diego) interviewed several mathematicians working at two Ukrainian universities that have been severely damaged by Russian missiles. The interviews are published at the "Notices Of The American Mathematical Society". The full text can be found here

The interviewed mathematicians are

  • Oksana Bezushchak - the dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Mechanics at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv,
  • Sergey Gefter - the head of the Department of Pure Mathematics at the Vasyl Karazin Kharkiv National University, and
  • Volodymyr Kadets - professor in the same Department of Pure Mathematics in Kharkiv, who was wounded during a shelling of the city in March of 2022.

and two scientists who defend Ukraineon the battle field - Oleksiy Kapustyan and Anton Ryzhov from Kyiv University.
