The Department of Mathematics of the University of Ostrava is offering a PhD position to work under the supervision of Doc. Diana Barseghyan in the area of Spectral Theory, Eigenvalue Problems in Mathematical Physics, and Differential Operators. 

This is a 4-year, fully funded position, covering tuition fee and featuring a competitive salary. An additional financial support for participation in scientific activities is possible. The language of instruction is English. The starting date is the beginning of the 2017/2018 academic year or shortly thereafter.


  • Completed M.Sc. degree in mathematics or its equivalent.
  • Good knowledge of English.
  • Dedication of doing mathematics at research level, willingness to participate in scientific life of the department.
